This, friends, is what a malfunctioning thermostat looks like. I walked into my room to notice that Olly was on top of his hide, which was odd. So I checked the temperature and nearly had a heart attack when the tempgun read 114.6 degrees fahrenheit. I immediately unplugged the thermostat from the wall and removed Olly from the cage. It lowered to what you can see there. 

This is why, friends, you always have a spare thermostat OR money to immediately buy a replacement. 

Thankfully, Olly was not burned and he was able to keep himself safe as soon as he felt that it was getting too hot.
